



Brale has rebuilt how it processes transactions on Ethereum Virtual Machine chains, moving that work off legacy infrastructure and onto the same modern architecture that runs the rest of our blockchain integrations.
Brale connects customers to blockchains the way a central hub directs travelers to different lines: You tell us which chain you want, and we handle the route. EVM chains were among the stops Brale built first, before we standardized how new chains are added.
Last month, Brale introduced an improved backend path for EVM chains. Now, they run through a more scalable, more repeatable system, delivering higher success rates and faster throughput.
Why it matters
Maintaining two systems meant duplicating efforts: A fix or a feature built for the chains on our new infrastructure had to be rebuilt separately for the chains still on the older path.
That capped throughput and added support strain, requiring individual investigation of stuck transactions, rather than automatic resolution.
What changed
Brale migrated EVM transaction processing onto the same infrastructure powering the rest of our chain integrations.
The new implementation runs on a workflow manager that preserves state across multi-step transactions. That means a multi-step process, like the permit-then-transfer pattern common on EVM chains, can recover mid-workflow.
But the most significant change is to nonce scheduling. The new system queues and orders transactions, enabling five to six transactions per block.
Fewer conflicts, less retrying: Previously, transactions competing for the same block could conflict and require a retry several blocks later. Prescribing transaction order upfront largely eliminates that conflict-and-retry cycle.
Built to add capacity: The system supports multiple treasury accounts, not just one. That's the next lever Brale can pull to keep scaling throughput as demand grows, without a re-architecture each time.
Improved reliability and speed
Transaction reliability on EVM chains has ticked up since the migration.
Meanwhile, processing time for those transactions has plummeted. The median transaction time in July was just 12 seconds, about 75% faster than it was in May and June. The vast majority of EVM transactions are now completed in under 40 seconds.

The combination of increased reliability and decreased processing times means an improved experience for Brale customers making transactions on EVM chains.
These upgrades also position Brale to support more EVM chains in the future, adding them quickly and seamlessly.
