Rolling out SBC as an independent entity
SBC was something of an experiment at Brale. We built SBC with the core attributes we thought made an ideal stablecoin. One that was particularly interesting for payments.

After SBC was built, it was clear to us that supporting Stable Coin and being a stablecoin issuer than enables others to create them, are two different projects. There was enough inbound that it made clear that we couldn’t do both.
We’re excited to share the SBC (Stable Coin) has been spun out of Brale entirely and is now it’s own independent entity. Jeff and team are focused on building tools that enable SBC to be integrated in more places and expand the use of stablecoins across protocols.
Their roadmap puts less emphasis on what a stablecoin is and more on the open source tools that make it more usable for developers.
This approach, while in strong contrast to the trend of yield bearing stablecoins, feels like an important yet simple difference in the focus of the project. SBC is led by Jeff Milewski and headquartered in San Francisco, CA.

The SBC team are just getting started on their journey and are excited to talk to projects who are interested in embedding tools like mass payments, gasless transfers, swaps, and solutions to other liquidity challenges a reality.
