Announcing support for Optimism
We're excited to announce that we've added support for the Optimism blockchain. Businesses can now mint and redeem SBC, and create bespoke stablecoins on Optimism.

About Optimism
Optimism is an EVM compatible layer 2 blockchain that allows Ethereum based applications to scale with low network fees and high transaction speeds. Through Optimistic rollups, Optimism is able to leverage Ethereum's security, decentralization, and developer experience while significantly reducing gas fees to $0.05 per transaction.
Optimism has emerged as a leading blockchain for on-chain finance, with over 180 protocols building in the ecosystem. The network has been growing quickly and recently saw an all time high in transactions in August.
In 2023, Optimism launched OP Stack - a cross chain compatible framework for building custom layer 2 networks. Institutions and protocols including Coinbase have chosen to build on the OP stack to develop their own Layer 2 blockchains interoperable with Optimism.
Optimism's vision is to power the Superchain, a scalable network of many L2s that share security and liquidity. Five chains built on OP Stack are live on mainnet today with eleven more in testing and development. Ecosystem providers like Caldera and Conduit are lowering the barrier to launch a customizable rollup even further, and dozens of OP stack chains are expected to launch in the next six months.
Create and use stablecoins on Optimism
Using Base and Treasury, businesses can create branded stablecoins on Optimism in minutes. Swap stablecoins between Optimism and other blockchains at any time. In the future, enterprises and protocols launching their own L2s on OP stack will also be able to create their own stablecoins as gas tokens in their networks.
When using Optimism stablecoins with self-custody wallets, we've found Rainbow, Coinbase Wallet, and MetaMask to be friendly to bespoke assets. We've taken the liberty of adding custodial Optimism wallets to all accounts at Brale. You can retrieve your custodial wallet address in Settings.
